2für die Sosigenes aus dem Demos MarathonX Sekretär war; im Boëdromion am
3neunten (und) dem eingeschalteten achten, dem dreißigsten (Tag) der Prytanie; Volks-
4versammlung in dem Theater; von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung Aischrion S.d. Aischrion
5aus dem Demos Auridai und seine Mitvorsitzenden. Beschluss von Rat und Volk;
6Euboulos S.d. Aristaichmos aus dem Demos Acharnai stellte den Antrag: Da die Ex-Epheben unter
7dem Archon Sositeles stets gehorsam waren dem Kosmeten und den
8Lehrern; ihren Dienst verrichtet haben bei den sie betreffenden Paraden
9in beiden Städten, und aus eigenen Kräften die Ochsen aufrechthielten, sie auch
10die Fackelzüge schön und in guter Formation mitgelaufen sind und alle anderen sie
11betreffenden Spiele; sie sich auch gesorgt haben für die Bewachung
12der Städte, gehorsam dem Kosmeten und den Generälen in allem, wozu man sie
13rief, und den (Epheben) nach ihnen in Frieden übergeben haben; sie auch geopfert
14haben die sie betreffenden Opfer den Göttern, und in Eleusis bei den Proe-
15rosiai die Ochsen aufrechtgehalten haben; sie auch übernommen haben die Reinigung
16und - - - des Lykeions; sie auch gemeinsam ausgerückt sind zusammen mit den Generälen und
17dem Kosmeten in das Umland zur Hilfe gegen das Feuer; sie auch beigesessen haben
18bei allen Volksversammlungen, und zusammen mit den Ratsmitgliedern hinabgezogen sind in
19die Stadt; sie auch eine Parade in Waffen durchgeführt haben bei den Gedenkfeiern für die Gefallenen

1In the archonship of Tychandros (196/5), in the third prytany, of Attalis,
2for which Sosigenes of MarathonX was secretary. On the eighth intercalated
3ninth of Boedromion, the thirtieth of the prytany.
4Assembly in the theatre. Of the presiding committee Aischrion son of Aischrion of Auridai
5was putting to the vote, and his fellow presiding committee members. The Council and the People decided.
6Euboulos son of Aristaichmos of Acharnai proposed: since those who were ephebes in the
7archonship of Sositeles (197/6) continually obeyed their commander and
8their trainers, and served in the processions proper to themselves
9in both cities, and lifted the bovines by themselves, and ran
10the torch races in a beautiful and orderly manner, as well as all the other competitions
11proper to themselves, and took care of the guarding
12of the cities, obeying their commander and the generals, according to their
13orders, and have handed over to their successors in peace, and offered
14to the gods the sacrifices proper to themselves, and at the Proerosia at Eleusis
15they lifted the bovines, and joined in undertaking the cleaning up
16and … of the Lyceum, and took charge jointly, with the generals and
17their commander, of fighting fires in the countryside, and watched over
18every Assembly, also escorting the councillors down to the
19city, and made the demonstration in arms at the Epitaphia
20and [in the Council] in accordance with the laws. In order therefore that there should always be an incentive
21for those who are ephebes to be disciplined and obedient to those appointed by the People to be in charge
22of their orderliness; and in order that the Council and the People may be seen to be honouring
23those who are worthy, for good fortune, the Council shall decide, that the presiding committee
24allotted for the forthcoming Assembly shall place these matters on the agenda, and submit the opinion
25of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise
26those who were ephebes in the archonship of Sositeles (197/6), and crown
27them with a gold crown for their excellence and good-will towards the
28Council and the People; and to praise also their commanding officer, Chremes son of Theo[…]ides
29of Myrrhinoutta, for the good-will and love of honour, which he
30continually shows towards the Council and the People; and to announce this crown
